Alan Brewer is an independent film & television producer and the President/Owner of New Brew Entertainment, a Los Angeles area production company with several feature films and television series on its slate. He has worked as a Film Producer, Music Supervisor, Score Composer, and Soundtrack Producer on feature films & television productions for Universal, MGM, Fox, Warner Bros., Orion Pictures, Miramax, Summit Entertainment, Anonymous Content, Bold Films, CBS Television, CMT, and VH-1.

Alan produced the Universal Pictures release, “Playing For Keeps,” (starring Daniel Jordano, Matthew Penn, Marisa Tomei). His feature credits include the Warner Bros release “American Pastime,” “Come Early Morning,” (starring Ashley Judd, with Laura Prepon, Jeffrey Donovan, Tim Blake Nelson, and Diane Ladd), “Lonesome Jim” (starring Casey Affleck & Liv Tyler), David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars,” horror classic, “The Burning,” “Secret Policeman’s Other Ball” (featuring Monty Python, Peter Cook, Rowan Atkinson, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Sting, Bob Geldof and others) and the recently restored gem, “Tokyo Pop.”

Because of his experience as a music publisher in addition to being a Music Supervisor and Music Clearance & Licensing Specialist, Alan has been on “both sides of the table” negotiating sync licenses for many years. He brings his longstanding perspectives of both Licensor and Licensee to each situation and is often called upon to work on productions with challenging music licensing needs. Alan has done music supervision and licensing on projects produced or distributed by many companies including Miramax, Lionsgate, Universal Pictures, Fox Television, Warner Bros, Showtime, Twentieth Century Fox, IFC Films, MTV, CMT, VH-1, Media Home Entertainment, and multiple independent productions. He has created informational webinars and has taught a number of classes and workshops on every aspect of Music for Film and Television for organizations such as Stage 32, Springboard Music Conferences, and the Boston University film program in Los Angeles.

Alan is on the Advisory Board for the prestigious Hollywood Music in Media Awards, is on the elite “Pro Team” for the Hollywood Independent Music Awards, served on the founding Board of Directors for the Burbank International Film Festival and is a Past President of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Film Festival, now in its 56th year! He is a founding board member of the Film-Com Finance & Distribution Conference and is currently its West Coast Chairperson. In these capacities, and in other contexts, Alan has extensive experience both moderating and participating on many panels at professional conferences and film festivals.

Alan’s current projects include “The Human Fly,” inspired by the real story behind the Marvel Comics character, with a recently launched new comic book series and a feature film in development, “Sewerville,” a gritty, rural crime thriller set in Appalachia, “The Family Hurt,” a psychological thriller with a supernatural twist, and “Deadfellas,” a mind-opening sci-fi horror feature co-written by Jeff Buhler, screenwriter of “The Prodigy,” “Pet Semetary” (2019), “The Grudge” (2020), and creator of the George R.R. Martin based SyFy series, “Nightflyers.”
