Christopher Turner, the Director of Southern University Law Center’s Mixed Reality Virtual Innovation Gaming and Esports Institute, is also the founder of Southern University Esports and Southern University Laboratory School Esports. With an impressive background as the Dallas Mavs Gaming Director and a featured speaker at ISTE, FETC, Supercell, and other notable events, Turner has been instrumental in organizing and promoting esports and gaming tournaments in the United States and Ghana, Africa. Notably, he is the founder of Turner Esports. As a young educator, Turner has always been passionate about graphic design, visual arts, and technology, which has shaped his approach to incorporating esports educational advancements in both K-12 and collegiate settings. He firmly believes that esports is an effective tool for promoting student engagement across the curriculum and has actively advocated for esports through curriculum development, coaching, and consulting. Turner is dedicated to enriching the lives of educators, gamers, and students alike, with a mission to transform the way mass’s view esports, align curriculum standards, secure funding, and establish enduring esports clubs’ programs, and businesses.
